Information Regulator Issues Compliance Reminder

The Information Regulator has issued an important notice to all Information Officers, Deputy Information Officers, and Admin Officers regarding the processing of requests for access to information. Organisations are reminded to stop using repealed PAIA forms and to ensure that only the current PAIA Request Form 2 (https://inforegulator.org.za/wp-content/uploads/2020/07/FORM-2-REQUEST-FOR-CORRECTION-OR-DELETION-OF-PERSONAL-INFORMATION-OR.pdf) is used when handling access to information requests. The use of outdated forms can hinder the ability of requesters to obtain information.

This notice is issued in response to ongoing instances of non-compliance with Regulation 7.1 of the Regulations relating to the Promotion of Access to Information, 2021. All relevant officers are urged to review the communication from the Information Regulator and update their procedures accordingly.
